Book Review: "The Decadent Society" By Ross Douthat

How much Kool Aid can one sell from the government especially when it involves a minority rather than majority that voted DT into office?

This is the mind blowing question I have sitting here in Luzerne County; a tiny town in NEPA which helped seal the deal for this ruthless toxic individual that now holds the highest esteemed office of the land.

The economy is top concern yet if you look around here you'll see the local jobs falling to the wasteside and countless empty store fronts. If you happen to be lucky to fill the void it's with the exact same option that just left. More low wages, less benefits, more factory or restaurant but nothing substantial to sustain living wages much less LIVING!

We need jobs that we can raise families upon. We need jobs that we can sustain the rising cost of living, we need jobs that we can afford to retire upon.

Yet, it's the same propaganda, the same need for attention and adulation, the same political publicity stunt to appear as if all is well while it crumbles at your feet.
I've worked on the front line volunteering with many organizations that are trying their best to save what little we have left. By this I mean those who are poverty stricken, homeless, unemployed, veterans, disabled, and the like.

These are the forgotten in all this kool aid.

When DT came to our area our reporters were like kids in the candy store drooling to get a glimpse and thrilled beyond measure to ask a question or two.

I never seen such nonsense until I decided to go to one of his campaigns and seen how he's a remarkable con artist able to sell fool's gold to anyone who believes it will shine.

Once I seen this charisma, charm, coy yet believable and credible appeal it was no wonder he was able to convince them to vote believing change was on the horizon.

However, for me , having married a malignant narcissist and later divorcing being left bankrupt and homeless w/o child support for well over a year with three kids I can tell you it's nothing more than an empty pit of nothingness.

These individuals operate from a false sense of self. It's nothing more than empty promises and broken dreams.

In fact I seen numerous articles since this that discussed how harmful the tariffs were especially upon our local farmers.

But I digress, read this and form your own opinion.
