Book Review: "The Girl From Widow Hills" By Megan Miranda

You can run but you can never hide! The truth will set you free!

OMG!! This book was superb and kept me flipping pages faster than I've ever done before!

If you are looking for a thriller with that exclusive fast paced, heart pounding, non stop action- Look no further!

Megan is a writer I've enjoyed for many years and in fact has always received high reviews from me.
This is in my opinion one of her best writings if not THE BEST!

It all begins with a young lady ARDEN who is lost for over 3 days after sleepwalking during a rainstorm.

Now the focus centers upon a man named Sean Coleman who found her and of course her mother who seeks to inherit fame and fortune by telling this 'surviving tale' of her daughter being found alive and holding on to a storm drain -battered and bruised.

What did everyone learn from this experience 20 yrs ago if anything is the question readers ponder.

I say this because Megan leads us on a 'detective' experience like no other in which there are a few quirks and pieces of evidence that stand out but nothing really concrete...

UNTIL...!!!

OH SNAP!!

If you're a fan you know where this is going...and it's all centered around a 'gifted liar' but who is this LIAR under a mask of darkness?

I went from thinking about every character in this book and while I had an idea from the start and that hunch was right - there's no denying that the author here made me look at other avenues and exhaust every possibility and that's a great writer who can sway your thoughts so deeply to make even something that appeared concrete be brought through the stages of questioning.

I can't give too much away but safe to say danger is lurking and in fact lurking might not be the best word to use here as I think "STALKING" AND "PSYCHOTIC" might be better words.

What always amazes me is the survivors tale especially those of abuse and trauma in which others find them non believable and non credible.

They are often blamed and excused away and that's often because those closed too us are the culprits of the crimes.

Yet, this is one of those books that leave you absolutely breathless when you uncover the truth which is maddening in its own right!

To think that many seek help when abused especially through utilizing various forms of therapy and or medication to ease the problems and hardships and sometimes that trust is often abused risking everyone involved.

Be careful who you trust is all I can tell the readers. Because in the end you can change your name, image, livelihood but you cannot easily change who you are without proper intervention.

That's a fact. The perpetrator must want to change and this is usually not the case in most situations. Often times the perpetrator receives a benefit by acting a certain way and this is a great piece of advise to keep in mind when entering this one.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I have.

This was truly splendid in every right!

Thank you to Megan Miranda, the pub, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
