Book Review: "My Kind of People" Lisa Duffy

If this isn't the book of the year I'm not sure what is!!

This was superb in every way starting with these perfectly flawed, multi faceted, vividly colorful, yet deeply moving characters that were invested and obligated in many ways to each other.

My Kind of People was just that literally and figuratively with a plot that was simply moving beyond words.

The idea that it's not the disease in terms of mental illness, alcoholism, drug addiction, or the like but rather it's the way others treat those who have succumb to the illness that was the Oprah A-HA moment!

In many ways each of us is one step away from the same temptations, the same struggles, the same misfortunes.

It can happen to the best people and the worse as it knows no boundaries!
The island seemed as fitting of any locations as it was in a sense a motive to heal.

Ten year old Sky becomes the center of everyone's attention when orphaned fr the second time after a tragic accident which claimed the lives of her adoptive parents.

While Leo finds his life in shambles as he attempts to repair the love in his marriage to his husband.

Maggie is a woman who has reached her boiling point with her highly involved in the community husband; in fact too involved for some standards.

The ME TOO is not just a movement as it's a revolution for change.

The grandmother of Sky is also someone who holds many secrets close to the heart and boy she's about to empty her closet in an ways never imagined.

The mysterious yet talented woman adds another dimension for readers to grasp with a chill of stalking and a connection to others in fulfilling a dying wish.

All in all it was absolutely splendid!

Thank you to Atria and Lisa Duffy for this ARC gifted copy in exchange for this honest review.
