Book Review: "When Reagan Sent In The Marines" By Patrick J. Sloyan

Nothing good comes out of war!

Many will debate facts and figures but in the end the truth is we lost many men in Lebanon and while some say we were invited while others argue it was an invasion either way it was a terrible loss of life.

I'm not so sure the blame lies solely upon Reagan as many other reviewers have noted this author seems to slant the information towards his viewpoints and hints at a possible impeachment idea but many have followed who have faced impeachment.

Regardless, while I did have some predetermined notions about Reagan coming into this book as I was a teen in those years I do have a wider and broader awareness of the truths and yes he was flawed as both a President, actor, father, son, and husband.

I was surprised to learn how he entertained others and the laughter he brought to the office and beyond.

I was also look back at the comparisons with his Hollywood lifestyle and how it was infused into the highest office of the land.

Most importantly his decision making process complete with confusions, distractions, misguided interpretations, and ultimately the blame and shame actions that followed.

We lost 241 Americans in the worst terrorist attack are nation suffered prior to 911.

May they rest in peace and may we find a way to utilize peace and communication rather than bombs and bloody wars.
