Why would anyone go back to the scene of a serial killer from years past?
That action from '59 is almost a distant memory or is it; as an elderly woman suffering from dementia has received plenty of cryptic messages leading readers to ponder every fine tooth detail.
Not to mention the nursing home facility smells of death, despair, and has been known to have horrible staff alongside crazy residents.
This just seems to be a recipe for disaster if I've ever seen one.
The flip flop of the story line from past to present creates a fog for readers along with the mental alertness of Adeline which detiorates with the plot.
The surprise ending doesn't seem to follow the rhyme or reason ebb and flow here.
Well, with this said it may be your cup of tea.
So try it and see if it fits better for you.
Thank you to LA Detwiler for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
