Book Review: "The Drifter" By Nick Petrie

Riveting! Powerful! Dynamic! Intriguing!

The fact that so many vets are not being helped properly for homelessness, PTSD, re-employment, medical care and more should be a concern for all.

In this case Peter Ash is having flashbacks from both Iraq and Afghanistan known as white static.

When he immediately learns that one of his friends killed himself he goes into a state of shock knowing he should have assisted his Marine pal in checking in and being a rock for him.

Yet, he vows to never leave a fellow Marine and goes forward helping Jame's wife with home repairs when he notices the ugliest dog underneath the front porch along with a suitcase of money.

While there are plenty of people willing to help vets not all the help is legit and sadly many are taken advantage of by other citizens who aren't so friendly.

Who do you trust?

Having read book 5 and 3 in this Peter Ash Series I decided to go back and pick up the others I missed starting with this one the first in the series.

I'm so glad I did as I absolutely loved everything about this one from the empathy and compassion to the mystery and intrigue as it all slipped together nicely.

What a joy to read!
