Look you can do one of two things : Turn the other cheek or fight for your loved ones and your rights!
In this case, we have Pike Logan who lost his best friend and partner/mentor right in front of him from a car explosion.
Pike took that pain and internalized the pressure until he himself was ready to explode.
The sub stories in this were interesting but seemed to add fluff more than plot especially with Amena which seemed to begin and end rather quickly at least on a good note.
The other note I'd make was with the 'infested lake' and the believable and credible factor swaying a bit too much for my taste.
However, Brad is a master and has served our country well for more than 21 yrs and that's to be commended and applauded (Thank you for your service) Army Proud!
I have read several of Brad's books with all 5 star ratings from this gal but this one had a different more political feel which I'm offset by and it's mainly because I survived a relationship with a malignant narcissist and it was literally and figuratively hell; so I feel for our country and pray the smoke, fog, mirrors end soon, while the denial and excuses end swiftly so we can get back to less gaslighting and more reality and normality.
With this all said, this had a constant relentless flow and a crushing blow by blow playing field that was on full blast.
It was enjoyable and quick with twists throughout so it was pleasurable and pleasing to read.
Someday when I have more free time I may try to go back and read the others in the Pike Logan Series as I'm a newbie reader and haven't read them all.
I heard many great things about Brad and have enjoyed the reviews and it's clear that you certainly get your money's worth in everyone of his novels.
