Book Review: Killman Creek By Rachel Caine

Exhilarating! Disturbing! Twisted and Suspenseful!

Lets just leave this here shall we? "You’re not safe anywhere now."
Yessss! This is what I'm talking about~!

I don't know about you but I absolutely love Rachel Caine and the Stillhouse Lake Series.

As a relatively newbie reader I haven't had the chance to get acquainted with all of her work but was able to have a glimpse into just how amazing of an author she is with several ARC's available at NetGalley.

I haven't read her series in order and in fact was missing #2 Killman Creek; so I went out on a limb and asked her if she could spare a desperate reader and huge fan a copy and she not only sent me a copy but a 'signed' copy.
OMG!! BLESSED!

This truly is out of this world superb!

It all begins with Gwen who won a court battle to have her kids for her exhusband Melvin.

Now folks- he's a serial killer- with a horrific past and no shortage of accomplices who are equally disturbed.

In fact, he's out on the loose having escaped from prison and the number one target is Gwen.

To kill or be killed this is now the ultimate question upon our characters.
As Melvin starts to send out disturbing texts and making mysterious calls while she's shored up in hiding at Stillhouse Lake - well- You know it's going down and quick!

Often it's asked from survivors of abuse - Can I be a crazed person or as toxic as the perp?

In this case, we shall hope not but Gwen aka Gina isn't taking any darn chances and certainly not after enlisting the help of one of his victims brother-Sam Cade.
One of the hardest things for survivors is the believability and credibility factor in a world that seeks to find fault and attach blame.

In this case who can you trust? And what if the hunter becomes the huntee?
One thing is for sure- death is near- she has simply wanted an end to her constant state of fear and chaos.

It's the fight or flight response in full mode with an ending that you might never have believed.

But for those who lived a hell like no other with those who enjoy utilizing brain washing, manipulation, gaslighting, and more mind techniques - you know it ain't going down like that because even with clipped wings survivors always fly...
Just like Phoenix we all must rise from the ashes...

And rising up is exactly what is being served!

Love this and honestly if Rachel (Roxanne) hadn't sent me this copy I may have never been able to read this one to complete the series. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for this copy that I will cherish for years to come.

If you've not yet read this one, make sure you add it to your TBR stat!

It's a great read!
