Book Review: Year One By Nora Roberts

Survival of the fittest! Apocalyptic! Power at birth! Celebration of one's purpose!

There's a virus going around killing everyone in sight but there's also love on the horizon
Those who survive find they have extraordinary powers but face terrible odds against the evil that lurks all around them.

A dystopian novel with plenty of intrigue, mystery, suspense to appeal to all genre's of readers.

It's also about family both the one born into and the one we are left with prior to exiting the Earth.

It's also about something far deeper and insightful and that's community and your place and or role within one.

The ability of one's power is questionable especially with law and order in question!

How darkness can be overcome by shedding light and obtaining hope.

It's about overcoming those obstacles and putting your best foot forward to achieve the impossible.

"It has to be more than rules and responsibilities. We're alive. So many of us lost pieces of ourselves. But we found pieces, too. Found things inside ourselves we didn't know were there. We're alive. Maybe it's time to celebrate that.."
I'd add we are given but one world and we must do our part to take care of it and each other.

So yes, read it and re-read it because it's sometimes in re-reading that we become fully engaged in all it's beauty and possibilities.
