Book Review: "Gone By Midnight" By Candice Fox

The art of parenthood is put to the test from every angle in this explosive new novel by Candice Fox.

What appears to be a child that has walked off turns into a nightmare and there's a few people who are in the hot seat because of it.

It's fair to say the characters are quite the lively group including the parents who have been put through the wringer with one being accused of child abduction while the other is accused of child abuse and an unspeakable horrific crime against a child that resulted in her death.

Readers are invited in to this dark mystery wondering is this a kidnapping? Is it a stalker? Was this family targeted? Are the other boys who stayed at this hotel together in danger?

So, many questions yet so little answers.

Candice does a mighty fine job of developing these characters to not feel as though they are monsters but parents who do truly care but for some reason or other made terrible mistakes or had accusations leveled against them.

The dark comes to light when we learn that Richie (Sara's son) is missing. Not only is he missing but his own mother has her own story to tell with one heck of a hidden past.

Ted who was brought into the plot to help uncover the truth is reluctant because he himself underwent a smear campaign like no other which ruined his reputation. He'd like nothing more than to dust off his parenting skills and be given a second chance with his daughter Lillian.

You never know what makes someone crack..Could there have been another motive such as money?

Well, with Superfish in the works, explosions on the horizon, and death upon us-I'm going to have to run off- But stay tuned on this one as it's an amazing read.
Just a word of advice- Be careful who you trust and watch out for yourselves.
Some people will literally stab you in the back and hit you over the head-LITERALLY!

And you won't even see it coming.

ENJOY!

Thank you to Candice, the pub, NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
