“Who taught you how to dance like that?”
“A pole dancer called Krystal...” “…She taught me after I rescued her bathrobe that was stolen by a wizard who can set things on fire with his mind.”
Now folks, this was a Kleenex in hand kind of a book that truly catapulted you into the audience rather than as simply a reader.
That audience was right in the heart of the dancing bear...
Wait, what?
Oh, so sorry! Did I not mention this involved a single father named Danny with his son Will who just lost his wife (Liz)in a car accident and now is having financial troubles.
He's about to lose his rent if he can't come up with money and to make matters worse his talent consist of some bad dancing and not much else.
So, you pull up your bootstraps and you dance your arse off.
Of course in the process you uncover the street performance has it quirks including getting noticed and sometimes not by the right groups or gangs.
In fact, Will was shy and withdrawn following the death of his mom but he's since been found by his father during one of his performances to have been bullied too.
Now, it's a parents worse tight spot of problems as he must tell his son it's him under the costume and he witnessed it all.
An emotional tug of war ensues as this will be felt long after the last words.
Thank you to Bibliotheca for this e-read in exchange for this honest review.
