Book Review: "The Night Portrait" By Laura Morelli

Love, hope, redemption...

Never, have I ever been lost in time with such a special duo timeline like this one with Laura Morelli.

It begins with Edith and art conservator who was forced to give over artwork to Hans Frank the Butcher of Poland.

I'd note here to please read the author's notes at the end of the story as it fills in the timeline, the characters, and the truths and makes this story that much more powerful and dynamic.

In addition, we have another femine heroine role with Cecilia the mistress of Duke of Milan but not a nobody by any stretch of the imagination.

Both of these ladies play such heroic, strong, female roles that I couldn't put this one down.

It's not just a place in line, a piece of history, a brief glimpse of royalty as it's about the behind the scenes, what isn't discussed, what is happening during these trying times of the early to late 40's in Milan, Poland, Germany, etc.

It's noted that Leonardo Da Vinci created the potrait of Cecilia Gallerani and the Last Supper.

It's also worth noting that Cecilia isn't alone and brings into the world a shining star.

Needless to say Ludovico also does his thing wil Ilmoro Lucrezia and has his own new bundle of joy.

All in all this relationship between Edith and Dominic was the shining North Star in the story and I'm so glad it came to play out the way it did.

Laura's work is the shining light we need in this world today.

Thank you to Laura, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
