Book Review: "I Was Told It Would Get Easier" By Abbi Waxman

Beauty always fades, but it lasts so much longer if you lay a thick layer of intelligence and integrity underneath it.”

― Abbi Waxman, I Was Told It Would Get Easier

Talk about timing - if you're a single parent of teens like me than this is right up your alley.
It discusses not just the parent/teen relationship but the empty nest syndrome, the need to please, the helicopter parents, and the rich who often find ways to advance themselves and others. (hint)

So without further adu I give to you Jessica and Emily and the journey into college tours and the fun of sharing dorms and the like.

I mean isn't it just peachy, glamorous, and wonderful for us single parents?....

Ok, you know sarcasm when you see it but folks this was a nice and pleasant read and for Jessica who quit her job as an attorney it was quite the jumping off point.

Needless to say there's been plenty in the news lately of trying to get that extra edge but what if you know about some low down stuff but are afraid to speak out for fear of retaliation?
Now, there's an idea not yet ventured nor gained...

I enjoyed this one but as some other bloggers noted it was missing that special touch and it was hard to put your finger on the missing piece.

Just not connected for me but perhaps you'll be more in tune and enjoy this a wee bit more.

Thank you to Bibliotheca for this great capture.
