Blog Tour: "Just Get Home" By Bridget Foley

First and foremost I must thank Bridget Foley, Harlequin Books for this ARC and inclusion in this Winter 2021 blog tour.

This book has me shook! Yes, absolutely nerve wracking. It's actually one of my reasons for not going to California is due to these earthquakes.

Heck, I had a hard time with the EF2 Tornadoes the past few years here in Pennsylvania so I guess I'm weak in the knees.

Speaking of which, the set of characters are mind blowing in this one. Bridget Foley does justice with them and this amazing setting that makes you feel the ground moving and the Earth shaking with every twist and turn.

Dessa and Beegie connect on different levels but the experiences they both have had is something to behold. Beegie is a teen in a foster home that doesn't sit well with her. She was on her way back to this location on the bus when the earthquake struck.

Meanwhile, Dessa is a single mom of Olivia and trying to simply survive.

After all isn't that what we're all trying to do is simply survive and thrive?!

The interaction between these two characters and the additional ones that partake in the plot were tenacious and lively.

Sadly, what must be noted is the child abuse/sexual abuse and the infidelity and so proceed with caution if triggers are an issue.

I'll be honest this was an explosive novel that started off strong and ended with the same sense of urgency and preparedness.

I don't recommend reading this when your teen daughter is out driving to the dentist and the words, "Just Get Home" continue to appear as it's quite the blender of emotions to endure.

Needless to say, I hope everyone has a chance to read this wonderful new piece from Bridget Foley and Harlequin Books.
