Up till today I don't recall learning about Hannah G Solomon so this was an interesting read for this single mom of three teens.
Hannah G. Solomon seems to have paved the path for not just women's rights including voting rights but also in terms of children and families and those who are impoverished and destitute. While she was classified in terms of Jewish origin her work seems to have known no bounds.
She was a Jewish pioneer in the truest sense of the word but managed to assist her Chicago community in many ways.
The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 is just one of many fascinating stories discussed in this work. It was a two day nightmare that resulted in hundreds of deaths and over 100k people left homeless.
I'd highly recommend this novel to anyone who has an interest in history, politics, service to others.
Thank you to Bonnie Lindauer, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
