Book Review: "The Last Tiara" By MJ Rose

The Last Tiara is a magnificent piece that showcases the importance of this time period of 1915 in Russian. The Russian Revolution began in 1917 marking the end of the Romanov dynasty and centuries of being under the Russian rule.

This is where we find ourselves with Isobelle's mother (Sophia) who took great strides to create a past worthy of the most illustrious diamonds.

Sophia sadly was injured by a car but was able to secure the tiara crown and treasure which was later remanded to her surviving relative her daughter Isobelle.

The story goes through two different time periods - 1915 Russian and later 1948 New York- and the resulting dilemma as to what happened to Sophia, the history surrounding this tiara, the missing diamonds that were replaced at a later time, and the subsequent reveal of Jules past history with his grandfather playing a key and central role in this swirl of emotions.

Without giving away too much grease to this well oiled machine what I can tell you is this story completely took me away to another time and place.

M.J. Rose is one of my favorites and it's always a pleasure to be swept up in her fictional/mystery/thriller pieces.

The back story to this novel was wonderful and it was that lingering detective appeal that worked well with the historical time of this masterpiece.

There's just enough zest, interest, intrigue, suspense, mystery, and elusiveness to keep it all rolling along.

An absolute fab read!
