While this was written well it didn't bring me in as much as I'd hoped and part of the blame lies with the subject matter, the unbelievable factor, the characters, and the ending that felt more like a 'superhero' portrayal with X man than a novel about the dark undercurrents and prison subculture.
There's so much violence that it's overboard with riot, torture, and this section on a brother walking into a woman's apartment which is the roommate of the woman that was just found brutally murdered.
Now, when I say this woman was murdered I meant that parts of her head were missing and Tyra Norris is now added to the list of deaths wrapped with silver tape around this victim's head.
I'm honestly not sure the point of this story as it seemed to stem from two different time frames with two different ideas in mind but the overall connector piece for me was missing.
Mr. Reece may be known as Teddy but I'm not following the point as the writing was a bit cryptic and left me pondering the meaning of many of the actions.
Thank you to John Hart, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
