Book Review: "Of Woman And Salt" By Gabriela Garcia

“She feared her husband more than any president or his men.”

― Gabriela Garcia, Of Women and Salt

While I get the concept in showcasing women immigration and specifically Cuban women, I couldn't get past the structure of this audio.

It appeared to be tossed together haphazardly with numerous disjointed stories that were bordering on tangent thoughts that just added more smoke but not enough fire to catch on.

“Yet the factory paid her by the piece, half of what the men earned, and she was the only woman in the shop, knew the men resented”
― Gabriela Garcia, Of Women and Salt

“We are more than we think we are. There was always more.”
― Gabriela Garcia, Of Women and Salt

I'm not sure what more I can add other than it's a rough perspective that was made worse by the time lines that jumped around and never truly sought one specific character to bring forth to enjoy.

Thank you to Bibliotheca for this audio in exchange for this honest review.
