One thing is for certain this book has a ton of drama, sexual tension, and horrific incidences that take its toll upon three generations of women.
This is a blog tour read so first and foremost I want to thank Harlequin for this ARC in exchange for this honest review and blog tour.
In addition, Brenda Novak has always been a go-to author for me in my -A Lister- categories and she never disappoints with the elevated tension, family tragedy, and romance department.
Some reviewers have noted this isn't the type of beach read you'd normally expect and I think that's a fair assumption.
This does bring in many varied interests from sexuality, to teen pregnancy, to first and or second loves, to failed marriages, cancer, and sexual abuse of varied forms.
It's not a light hearted read nor is it something that's suitable for everyone so you must keep that in mind as this is listed as a chick lit, women's fiction, contemporary book.
For me Quinn was the man to beat as he seemed to hold the most interest for me as he pursued the woman of his dreams.
The daughter Taylor seems to have a huge problem as a sixteen year old girl not just with an unexpected situation but one that results in many hard core feelings in different venues to put it nicely.
In addition, the missing spouse is also in play here (Nick) and he may or may not be found by near end.
All in all this was an entertaining read with plenty of factors in play all at once that will draw you in and hold you close till the very last page is turned.
Thank you to Brenda Novak, the publisher, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
