Book Review: "Possession" By Katie Lowe

This was one tough cookie to crack because there's way too many nuts in this one.

Look folks, I love a great thriller like the rest of you but this one had a whole host of issues from plot holes, to loose fittings, to nuts running around all in the name of gaslighting, mental illness, suicide, and murder to name a few.

The issue is the time line bounces all over from 2008-2018 and everything in between. The moment that Hannah and Graham Cotton met to the time thereafter and the killings are all on this same wave.

Now, in addition we have foggy moments of memory lapses so you're not entirely sure of the accuracy of information being spewed out to readers.

Plus, we have Hannah a psychiatrist with her professor husband who had numerous alleged affairs. That coupled with the fact that she's had plenty of acquaintances such as the intern who had the affair named Darcy Brooks or was it Sophie?..

We also have the 'eye for an eye' saga that's playing out simultaneously and poor Mike who was accused of this murder charge.

Add to this mix the near death of her daughter Evie from the bathtub incident and this evolving dilemma that was surrounding the Hawkwood House via good ol grandma Margot. She actually may have created more dirt than Hannah or was that deaths?...

Have I lost anyone yet?

I've read several reviews in which many wanted to take a DNF and I can see why although this was a quick read for speedy readers. It was also written good but it just had too much fluff and not enough consistency and accuracy.

The problem for me is never the relatable factor of characters but rather the craftsmanship and execution of not only the plot but also the relationships and their own connections to make it flow and this ending was just lackluster.

Amy and Dan are also tossed in the melting pot of drama alongside Mike and Sophie.

I suppose the only thing I have left is to watch out for the knife and keep an eye out for the truth.

Thank you to Katie, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
