Book Review: "The Lake House" By Laura Wolfe

Imagine if you will that 5 of your closest friends from college days contacts you to celebrate your 40th birthdays in a secluded cottage for a lovely getaway...After all, what can possibly happen in only 3 days at a cabin?

Sounds dreamy-Count me in!

Well, that's until you realize that Frida King the camp owner was found dead!
Wait-can we back up for a second?

Ok, sure - Lets set the record straight. These ladies : Charlotte, Jenna, Kaitlyn, Sam, and Megan really have a mess on their hands and it's not just the creepy cabin owner that you must worry about.

Remote location, no cell service, false advertising, lies galore, betrayal to the hilt, hidden pasts, affairs of the heart, passion of the mind, and a gal who had an abusive past set to take the fall for it all.

Travis- my buddy- you're up. Looks can be so deceiving and perhaps these ladies were wrong about your sense of character, morals, values, and demeanor.

It seems many are afraid of their own shadows, what goes bump in the night, and the fall from grace seems long and windy.

All roads lead off the beaten path and it's surely a road less travelled that takes them places.
Now, this may not seem like your ideal cup of tea but this thriller has two of the five dead. The clues to them both seem to fit into a neat puzzle. The aftermath is mind blowing.
From P.T. to Unemployed in a matter of six months was a SHOCKER!! Yet, was that enough to kill someone?

Bruised, Battered, Torn Up but still Camp Eventide rose from the ashes. This former roommate stuff really is alarming. As both a knock out punch and as a TRAP!

Never trust anyone who simply wants to give you a hug is the moral of the story.
Never trust a group of friends as BETRAYAL may just be the name of the GAME!

This was powerful, dynamic, and filled with a sense of wonderment that I thoroughly enjoyed!
Thank you to everyone who made this ARC possible!
