No Way Out is the newest thriller from Fern Michaels and it literally packs a punch.
It's a book about domestic violence and abuse and it's also about the aftermath of both as Ellie now lives as a recluse.
We find out the bits and pieces as the story slowly unravels when the neighbors try to pull her out of her shell and assist with yardwork and the like.
In fact as the story proceeds we learn of the coma Ellie suffered and then are introduced to other characters including Colleen, Jackson, and her husband Mitchel (the raging drunk). Ellie is actually a secondary character and not the story's protagonist.
It then becomes clear what we are dealing with and why she has no memory of the past all while dealing with new romances and the wrapping up of this story with a nice bow in the middle of this quaint little idyllic town in which everyone knows everybody and small town politics reign supreme.
Thank you to Fern Michaels, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
