Book Review: "Girl A" By Abigail Dean

“You can endure an awful lot when you know that you'll be fed at the end of it.”

― Abigail Dean, Girl A

You can say that again - Abigail Dean!

Now, you know I'm all for thrillers but this one was a bit odd for me as it was as descriptive but more thought provoking in the suspense/mystery department.

In addition, the writing was good but it didn't invite me in to experience anything of wonder as I would've hoped for in being shaken to the core.

While this was dark, deeply emotional, difficult subject matter such as childhood abuse, sexual abuse, and toxicity galore within this family.

Girl A as Lex was known was more like the matriarch than her own mother to this family. She had several siblings all of which were subjected to similar mistreatment. Lex was the lucky one to escape but sadly must go back to finish the mother's will and estate issues left behind.

While there's plenty of hype surrounding this one for me it was a solid read but not an A Lister for those who follow me.

A great source to find this style of book and plenty more is Bibliotheca at Cloud Library - go on an check them out.
