Book Review: "On Cold Ground" By DS Butler

On Cold Ground by DS Butler brings together corruption, blackmail, bribes, and crooked individuals hiding behind a chapel and a bloody cross.

Just when you think this is going in a certain direction you learn that you've been taken for a ride literally and figuratively and Sam isn't the only one left behind.

Folks, DS Butler has never disappointed her readers and with this Fifth in the Series piece involving Detective Karen Hart you know that sizzlers is the name of this game.

The Cleanser is on the prowl. Individuals are turning up all over the place with weird markings and ritualistic killings.

Yet, we must wonder - WHY?

What is the motive? Why is this sick person doing this?

The story progresses quickly to one of jaw dropping action, suspense, and mystery.

The intrigue is in uncovering the truth and catching the killer but it won't be a simple open and shut case.

In fact, one person has just put the gun to his own head and asked Karen to give his daughter his love.

Dangerous! Dark! Twisted!

It's escalating rapidly so hold on tight.

There's more than one person and there's more nightmares coming around every corner.

The issue is getting creepy as more of these messages are being found after the slayings..." I'm closer than you think."

Does this person know the stakes are higher than prior. The price to pay has just escalated beyond belief.

Karen's neck is literally on the line. Can DS Hart survive to bring justice to the families?

Anthony, Lloyd Nelson, Laurel Monroe  are gone but they're not forgotten.

Their memory will live on but our Top Dog is about to go DOWN! No doubt, he's not working alone either. Churchill may have got the ball rolling but many have helped this one pick up steam along the way. In fact, seven in all as henchmen but more may be working behind the scenes.

This story has everything a thriller should with plenty of guessing kept in check right till the very end.

You'll never be able to figure this one out ...

Loved it! A must read!
