Book Review: "A House At The Bottom Of The Lake" By Josh Malerman

A house is just 4 walls until you make it a home.

No worries in due time you may be in the basement now but you'll find that house with the lights on , the door open, and the rooms all to yourselves.

Oh, James/Amelia - your love story is beautiful.

The water is such a calming, soothing, sensational feel especially when your young, in love, dating, and enjoying one's company.

However, that water can become murky, deeply troubling, and well....
"Night upon night. Darkness within. Darkness without."

Ok, breaking up is hard to do but coming together is quite magical.
She understood, she knew why those lights came on. She figured out the reasoning.
Actually, it can be molded to fit. You can make it -this relationship-whatever you choose. Perhaps you can introduce yourselves. You can go on that date if you're transparent and open with one another. Or, you can circle that lake w/o that safety vest, on that canoe, and above water.

Floating is effortless, it's drifting, it's gliding across the waters edge.
You can't see the entire journey yet, it can be gratifying.
What's that noise? Is it laughter that I hear?

No, matter what don't lose everything. Don't be obsessed because obsession leads to things that "even when you don't you do."

Time's short. Reach for the top. Go as high as you can go. Do it together.

I wonder, how long has it been since you've been on dry land?
Have you ever stopped to think of how much you built together.

Reflection is worth the trip. Take a chance. Chase her. Don't let her go out any further, any deeper, and longer.

The why's and how's aren't important.

Because in the end you have the coolest girl and you'll never have to be afraid of being lost at sea.
