Book Review: "Goblin" By Josh Malerman

Do you love to explore? A fan of thrillers? Are you always seeking more meaning to what life has to offer? Do you constantly look outside the box- beyond just six novellas?

This for me was more than just a story about Goblin - the location of this earth shattering piece of history.

Yes, history because it's delivered in a timely manner, it addresses the past, it leads to the present, it glances into the future, but what if you're not there to receive it? What if you're too damn busy chasing after your greatest gorgeous handbags made up of hysteria, fulfilled with tears, created by fear.

What if despite the terrors, the horrors, the visions, and the nightmares - you still called this place home? This place that's enriched with its hedges, darkness, and every encompassing stories as dark as the violent sky.

It makes me wonder what's beyond these six novellas- the sense that more exists beyond what's written on paper.

I suppose I'll have to hold that train of thought for another day but in the meantime I'll just 'drive' and if I'm not home -don't open the box and just head towards the light. The party. The place with loud voices where others gathered with their horrors engrained within them to call this town home.

I'm too darn frightened of these standing boxes- the Goblin citizens buried standing up?! Wait-"He hadn't been thinking directly of ghosts but ghosts always hid in the one place with corners he could not remove. His mind."
