Book Review: "Dark Sky" By C.J. Box

What a barn-burner this book turned out to be!

C.J. Box has always been my go-to-guy in terms of A'lister reads as he's never failed to write a top notch book that not only deals with the fragility of mother nature but also the fragility of our legal system.

Both of these venues are discussed with certainty, deep rooted heart throbbing action, and tons of mystery and suspense.

Falling in love with Joe Pickett- our main character as the Game Warden of Wyoming- is relatively easy when you know he always has a fight on his hands, he's rough and tough, but also tenacious in his apprehension of suspects. In this case he takes a tech guy on a hunting expedition only to become the hunted himself.

With several scary moments in which he nearly got killed, we learn that there's a whole entire undercover market for these falcons and birds of prey that fetch a pretty heft price.

Needless to say some will do anything to make a quick buck including stealing the eggs right out of the nests.

The tension can be felt as the heat rises and the passion intensifies with a bit of red tape thrown into this wild mix.

Sophia is just one casualty but we nearly had several with Liv and Joe.

Thankfully, everyone survives another day but the trail leads to one man and he's on Joe's radar -Axel Soledad-he's gunning for 'ya.

BOLO- he's on your tail.

Thank you to C.J. Box, the publisher, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this wonderful ARC in exchange for this honest review.

I can't wait to see what's coming out next from C.J. Box!
