Book Review: "Dark Roads" By Chevy Stevens

Money, Power, Control, Corruption at the Top--Isn't that always the case?!

Keep the lights on...Snuggle in...This is going to get busy really quick!

Indigenous women are being killed, their vehicles and personal belongings left behind, many are never found.

What the heck kind of highway from hell is this?

The story trails a young woman named Hailey who is planning to runaway and luckily she has outdoor skills to help her.

A year later we're introduced to Beth Chevalier from this Cold Creek location who joined forces to capture her sister's killer. Amber was murdered.

Beth is a pill popper, liar, and school drop out.

Hailey and Amber forge a relationship that goes beyond what many might except.

Guess who ultimately winds up finding her body, badly decomposed, and mangled?

Just when you think the men in blue are on good solid  ground along comes a bad apple and ruins it for everyone. To make matters worse, he's abusive, corrupt, and the last person you'd go to for help. People are afraid of him. So, too was one of our main characters as he's the girls uncle.

Of course, that's just the beginning because it's a -Dog -Eat - Dog - World! Which this lil doggie was a heroine in this story. Go Wolf!

These photos that are circulating are sick, twisted, and perverse.

Could the common denominator be this highway or some type of special gathering place nearby -possibly- a campground-restaurant-or similar venue?

Someplace where everyone or shall I say -teen girls- hang out - with easy access to snatch and grab-and run.

Well, I have lived my life in a rural- boondocks-location. I get the hardened and bold edge.

It fit well in this story and created an air of mystery that was second to none.

You never will uncover the killer till the end and even then it was hard to imagine, hard to accept, and even harder to fathom. How could someone just give up their own self worth to stoop so low?

Well, I stayed up way beyond my time to get this one plugged in-so I hope you enjoy this review and I hope you find this book to your liking.

Thank you to Chevy, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
