Blog Tour : "The Perfect Guests" By Emma Rous

The tangled webs we weave...a grand estate surrounded by secrets, an orphan in the throws of peril, and a young woman battling a mind twisting game that was just chilling beyond belief.

First and foremost I must send a special -Thank you-to Berkley/Random House publicity for this invite to this wonderful blog tour for The Perfect Guests.

As you know thriller/mystery/fiction is my top choice of genre so I was extremely excited to be selected for this new opportunity.

Emma Rous is one of my favorite authors having read The Au Pair -so I knew what to expect going in-and no her work is always extravagant.

This for me was a bit complex with the multiple characters and plot that seemed intermingled and exhausting at times.

This was not a bad thing but just time consuming and difficult for readers as notes must be taken for keeping it all straight.

As for the intermingled relationships they were also very extensive with a central component around not just the family and friends but also the genetic component.

Two time frames co-exist on this one with 1988 and 2019 being significant to Beth Somes and Sadie Langton. Their connection is quite interesting but is a slow drop in the cooker as this plays out between The Averells, Raven Hall, and one heck of a weekend party.

Unseen hosts are playing games and it's icy cold with no pun intended.

Literally and figuratively everything is on the line here for everyone involved. It's crucial to get to the truth before someone gets hurt or even killed.

The deliberate nature of certain individuals are truly shocking and beyond reprehensible. The nature of the crimes are outstanding as some don't stop once caught and will often target even closer members of the tight knit group.

The entire plot thickened, the setting took on a life of its own with darkness, grit, and chilling details.

Nina, Caroline, Marcus, Dr. Everett, Beth, Leonora, and Genevieve are all multi-dimensional, colorful, vivid, and commanding in their attention.

This took my breath away as you feel constantly on alert.

As things became to take hold, the secrets became more constant and fluid, the confessions began to pour out like fine wine.

How fitting it was that this occurred in a place known for its splendor, abundance, grandeur, and history.

That ending was just something to behold. A grand entrance upon the final journey that came full circle with one valuable item that held so much importance.

Thank you to Emma, the publisher, Amazon Kindle, and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
