Book Review: "Dark Memories" By Liz Mistry

This was a tough one to endure as it was lengthy, complex, and driven by an unforeseen power within the writing.

Have you ever read the Nancy Drew mystery novels as a kid and were simply lure in by the writing creating a memorizing display that wouldn't let you leave?
This was similar with a detective feel, a dark mysterious crime(s), coupled with a detective duo that rode the waves together till the end.

It began with 3 letters, 3 murders yet it ended with DARK MEMORIES that can no longer haunt DS Nikki and her family ever again.

Surely, the major piece of this game is the killer's identity behind these murders. The hunter may become the hunted with each passing death. The clues mount, the deaths more personal, the letter more eccentric.

Another body and another note with fingers pointing in one direction-someone close-someone who knew Nikki is eliciting fear from within.

Who could want to keep her knees rattling and her mind on edge especially now that she has a family and children.

Nikki has a secret. She's been abused. Her abuser is well known. Her abuser may be someone within her own family.

She's broken but not beaten. She's scarred but not dead. She's alive but traumatized.
She comes from a strong willed mother who undertook more than anyone could ever imagine.
Behind closed doors it was a long drawn out nightmare and she paid dearly in the end.
Lalita was a hero in disguise. Her knowledge, her insight, her beauty radiated from her and landed upon her daughter.

Dad Downey missed out on so much but in the end he got what he deserved-Karma's a Biotch!

Thank you Liz, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
