Book Review: Do No Harm By Christina McDonald

What would you do to save your son whose dying from cancer?

Would you commit murder?

This is the choice we now see before us in this new heart pounding thriller by Christina McDonald entitled, "Do No Harm."

This new novel focuses upon the opiod crisis that has engulfed our nation. It's no secret the drug has been funneled through via misuse of the healthy care system via the health care community.

This leads to numerous overdoses and yes sadly even -DEATH!
What this case here purports to expose is the underbelly of such crime. A crime of passion, of desire, of wants, and of needs.

The addiction is real. The deaths are real. The suffering of those addicted is real.
In this situation we have Emma -a physician and her husband Nate-a cop who both have been married over 5 yrs with a son -Josh that was diagnosed recently with cancer (Acute Myloid Leaukemia).

If this wasn't painful enough we learn that the mother Emma wasn't exactly faithful and yes, she went outside her marriage to commit adultery.
Unfortunately, the life saving measures needed will cost over $500k for what's known as 'Car T-Cell Therapy).

How on Earth can Emma come up with this kind of money that insurance won't cover?
Surely, as a physician she must have supportive connections -Right?
Perhaps other relatives or friends can help?

What if a Go-Fund-Me or something similar can be initiated to save this family?
Well, the truth is that not everyone is one the right side of the fence.
It seems drugs are more plentiful and murder is the name of the game.

Everyone is now a suspect even a few doctors who should've known better.
What will become of this family? Will Josh be saved in time?
Can this family move forward beyond all this pain?

A truly remarkable new work by a fab author and writer.
Thank you to Christina, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
