Book Review: "Seven Perfect Things" By Catherine Ryan Hyde

Love is a splendid thing!

A beautiful story of a young woman's determination to save seven puppies while in an ironic twist also saving herself and her loved ones.

When Abby rescues a litter of puppies from a river she'd never expected it would lead anywhere remotely close to the alteration of the lives surrounding her.
Her home life is anything but kosher with her parents Mary and Stan. The father is abusive and when he decides to take over he literally terrorizes them from behind closed doors. This behavior is unwarranted and dangerous and thankfully Gerald is present to assist this family.
Everything escalates so quickly and upon rescuing the puppies -Abby uncovers a friendship and more with Elliot.

Elliot and Abby form this unbreakable bond while focusing their attention in caretaking and addressing the needs of these gorgeous animals.

Abby begins to ponder the idea that Elliot and Mary would make the perfect match and starts to sway her mother to meet with him.

Quality time does make the heart grow fonder but what would happen if Stan found out?
Could this friendship survive and could it lead to anything more substantial?
Would Abby be able to find homes for these puppies? Could she keep them all together? Would they have to be put down at an animal shelter?

I'm so happy to report that this ended on a good note with plenty of joyous moments.
It's always a pleasure to read Catherine Ryan Hyde's work. I've read numerous books by this author and all of them were rated 5 star except one that I rated a strong 4 star.

She always finds just the right mixture to make magic happen. Whether it's unlikeable characters, vivid and strong settings, wild plots or romantic ones - the writing always holds up well.

Thank you Catherine for this wonderful new ARC that was so heartwarming and pleasurable to read.

I'm glad the animals and the characters all found their way home.

A classic as always with superb writing to behold for readers of all ages and genres!
A must read for 2021!
