Book Review: "Malibu Rising" By Taylor Reid Jenkins

We all remember the 80's with Lionel Richie -Dancing on the Ceiling- and this book literally has me in that mindset. That carefree, happy go lucky, lets celebrate atmosphere with fun and sun to boot.

Malibu Rising makes one feel the wind in their air, the ocean breezes, the California sunsets and the magnificence of a well written storyline all at once courtesy of Taylor Jenkins Reid.

As you can tell I'm a huge fan with over 200 ARC's so when I tell you that I cleared my TBR to place this on my Must Reads pile I'm clearly not lying.

The Riva's are a popular bunch with a legendary father for a singer and whole host of kids trying to make their own mark in the world. Surfing, modeling, photography, and more are the careers of choice on the banks of the cliffs of sunny Malibu.

Yet for all this perfection on the outside the inner turmoil is apparent and abundant. So much so that Nina must take the wheel in their lives and become the caretaker for her siblings.

Everyone is looking forward to celebrating the last days of summer party. Sadly, after being jilted by her other half Nina isn't too keen on celebrating. Oh, by the way-Hud isn't on the party train either as he's on the verge of finally coming to terms with telling his inseparable brother the truth.

With everyone doing their own thing it can become a tad bit energy draining and difficult to follow so keep the journal handy as we weave in and out with each passing hour on the clock that incorporated each chapter.

What I would note is that the liberation and tenacity did finally find Nina and while midnight was coming near -the party winding down- the Mercedes nearby - the folks walking away - the flames may just be ignited and possibly even wind their way into the next hour or shall we say the wee hours of the following morning.

It's all good though because out of ashes we shall rise!

BOOM!

Love it Taylor!
