Book Review: "Memoirs" By Elie Wiesel

Elie Wiesel is a masterful writer in his quest to showcase the truths!

"We've been fed lies." "Their aim was to lull us into a false sense of security. ...since the enemy was cheerful and polite, there was no cause for alarm."

"Why did human beings act like savage wolves?"
He then notes: I "understand" the savagery of the Germans, for savagery was their vocation; their politics, their idealogy, their education, - I was about to say their religion.
But what about the others? The Ukranians who beat us, the Russians who struck us, the Poles who humiliated us, the Gypsies who slapped us, the Jewish Kapos who clubbed us? Why? To show the killers they could be just like them?

I couldn't help but see that history repeats! That we had a dictator who cared more about appearing holy with a Bible after pepper spraying and sending rubber bullets upon our citizens than he did about being holy.

We had a president of these United States that allegedly incited an insurrection and led his citizens to the steps of the Capitol Building. As we later learned many of those so called terrorists and white supremacists were intent on harming and or killing members of the house.

We have a new day, a new dawn, a new night upon us but what will we do with this new found freedom as the danger lurks?

I suppose if you care nothing of history you'd simply follow blindly without verifying facts, without learning from the pasts, without caring what's done to your brother or sister.
However, for those of us who wish to protect democracy I suggest you read this entire Memoir as it will bring you to your knees and fill your heart and soul with pain.

As he continues to note: Regrettably, it is also a fact that some Jewish gangsters considered themselves Jewish "patriots." In this memoirs the writer Ben Hecht told of having been "kidnapped" by persons unknown and taken to a garage, where, in the presence of various gangsters, he was given a suitcase stuff with dollars for the Irgun.

Similarly, to what we seen play out all across the United States in which forcible action resulted in certain individuals being taken away or carted off unwillingly for whatever reason.
If only we knew why?

I suppose again we could turn the other cheek and pretend that we need to be united. We shouldn't worry what went on in the last few days of DT's presidency. We should just move forward in perfect togetherness but without any responsibility, accountability, or justice against those who desecrated our most sacred grounds the house of its people that belongs to each and everyone of us.

This is not normal yet it was fed to millions who were gaslighted through propaganda channels or in the words of the 45th - fake news!

Truly the only indication of fraud was the snake oil salesman behind the highest office of the land but what we didn't know then was just how close we came to losing our democracy.
"Some have tried to explain their behavior by the killers nefarious influences on his victim, the repressed desire of the oppressed to resemble the aggressor the innate instinct for power, the metamorphosis engendered by extreme situations.

Jean Amery he thought once noted: The first to bow to the oppressor's system and to adopt its doctrines and methods were the intellectuals.

We cannot let hate win. We cannot let democracy fall. We must stay vigilant, stay active, and become involved in our government and hold those accountable who believe they are far superior and above the law. Nobody is above the law. Impeachment not once but twice will explain that logical thinking. We must continue to remove the accolades afforded to a President via the Senate. Please contact your Senator and share your thoughts. Don't let your power of your voice go silent!

A great new read that was written long before the pandemic, the corruption, the insanity we see today.

It should be required reading for all ages!
