Book Review: "Her Dark Lies" By J.T. Ellison

A cat with nine lives is the best way to describe this horrid tale of Morgan and this wild Compton family saga.

The beautiful setting, an Italian Coastal Island, sweeping seas of glory, caves and thick deeply elongated walls surrounding this elegant location -perfect for a wedding or a murder or two or three...

Well, you see folks this isn't your typical Nancy Drew story because this is J.T. Ellison at her finest doing what she does best-writing thrillers that take your breath away.
Climb in, and hold on, the party is just about to start.

In fact, lies are being served up on the silver platter.

Whose telling the truth is anyone's guess but imagine marrying into this whacky display of insanity or worse falling to your death because of them.
The whirl wind romance is just part of the drama because jilted lovers or ex-wives as the case may be can come back to haunt you.

Surely, the skeleton that was located may not be part of this entrenched nightmare but something is brewing in the wind. It's more than just an epic storm. The waters are rising, the tide is coming, the fires are exploding, the Hebrides are coming to an end.
But wait- Breaking News-Jack's first wife may have been found- she may just be alive- Wait! What?

Oh, yes! It seems she's been busy all these years. Now, what were you saying about these threatening texts you've been receiving -Dear CLAIRE?
OMG!

"You should look into the history of the island. It's cursed."
Well, perhaps it's more than just the island that's cursed. As the occupants inhabiting it may be at fault.

What we have here is an ironic twist. It seems the hunter may very well be the hunted. Claire may have her own story to tell..but she's keeping silent.
Silence may be golden but what about Jack? Elliot? Fatima? Kate?
They can't all remain silent. The party must go on!

As several articles are located the past becomes more hideous and alluring. Captivating readers attention as to the thickening plot surrounding this secretive family.
Could Jack be innocent and his own brother be to blame for Morgan's demise?

The legacy of the Compton's is vast with spies from the war peeking reader's interest. The idea that Jack had a hand in something dark and disturbing is off setting Claire but it seems he could do anything and she'd stand by her man. For reasons I can't let loose.
So, why did we lose so many of the party-goers for this wedding? Where are they?

Well, Henna seems to have falling, several other women met their fate long ago, and Claire well she's all on her own in her make believe land.

Gosh, I wish I could spill more for you but suffice to say that J.T. is the Queen at Thrills and Chills.

Besides, if at first you don't succeed try and try again!

Now, Morgan you know two's company and three's a crowd but hot damn! That ending was good!

Thank you to J.T. Ellison, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
