Book Review: "The Familiar Dark" By Amy Engel

"Pick your poison."

Eve, Call, Junie are not one big old happy family but are trying to make things work.
Eve's daughter Junie is pronounced missing from a local park along with Izzy her best friend.
The mystery goes deep between these two young ladies as the connections between them involve more than just friendship.

As it turns out, Izzy had a boyfriend named Matt who was in and out of the spotlight but more recently had his own trailer blown up.

The story progresses nicely and gets right to the point as the plot thickens and the mystery behind Junie's disappearance begins to focus upon those closest to her.
Could a family member be involved? A friend? A lover?

So many unanswered questions but one thing is for certain you may be able to wear a mask but eventually others will see through to the truth. The truth shall set you free.
Trust actions not words.

Perhaps the other family -Izzie's family-may shed light on this mystery.
Blood money is not what anyone wants but some will do anything for it.
Those in blue are not always true.

Just sayin'

Thank you to my local library for another great curbside pickup read.
