Book Review: "Too Much and Never Enough" By Mary L. Trump

I've waited for this book to make its mark on the world.

The reason being I was married to a malignant narcissist/sociopath/psychopath in my professional opinion but sadly I can't diagnose from afar based on the Goldwater Rule and neither can Mary L. Trump.

While she carries all the credentials as a psychologist she can only state her God honest opinion and even that much is a glimmer into this dark world that many of us know sadly all too well.

It's an empty bottomless black pit. A world that is unfulfilling. A world that's based on loyalty, charm, discard and devalue.

It's a personality trait disorder that originates from birth, an infantile stage into adulthood, that displays its voracity at the most unwarranted of times.

A life full of eggshell moments. A blame and shame game. A masterful art of deceit, trickery, manipulation, gaslighting, brain washing, triangulation, hoovering, mirroring, projection, and much more.

Those who've not experienced the wrath of toxicity are extremely lucky as these individuals have no moral compass.

Family is viewed as secondary with top priority to the "ONE" as it's a me first scenario that results in pedestal placement and constant seeking of adulation, praise, and spotlighting.

I know this well as a 'kept woman' and 'business partner' that the word 'love' is rarely discussed, shown, or utilized throughout these marriages.

It's more a matter of two ships sailing in the night, no communication, no affection, no give and take in these types of situations.

The key is to know that there are warning signs and they are evident if you keep your eye open and your heart and mind tuned to them.

For example: No holding hands, no walking arm and arm, no smiling or show of affection, no participation with family functions or children's events, no equality, no remorse, no reciprocation of kindness, no empathy, no nothing.

There's simply no relationship as everyone is expendable and devalued once the benefit is obtained.

These enablers as we now see with the GOP and beyond are allowing this destruction to continue without being held accountable nor responsible for violation of the law much less the Constitution.

Our Democracy is in jeopardy and at this point we can continue to excuse it away and find fault or we can own up to the deceit, admit we were sold a Jekyll and Hyde persona, and move forward to right the wrongs.

Those who come after us...be it in marriage or in a professional setting will see the same fate as those who came prior.

Please don't think for a second that a flip of a switch will alter years of corruption, intimidation, manipulation, bigotry, racism, and more.

Even with proof, with legal evidence, with proper documentation you will always find the nay sayers who will follow blindly off the cliff.

This is what we now see happening today and I feel for these individuals as no amount of 'proof' will make them see the 'light.'

This book was truly the eye opener by a qualified professional with first hand experience of the inner families turmoil that was deliberate and malicious beginning with Fred.

That molding of the 'golden child' is what you will find while Mary will be the 'black sheep' or 'scapegoat' as I was for speaking against the narcissistic family.

As you will learn those who speak the truth are silenced. We know the reality and the trail of destruction that's left behind which takes years to recover and rebuild.
This is not an overnight sensation but a nightmare -a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Narcissists in general will sell you empty promises and broken dreams. They are financial disasters, their lives are tattered, their childhood was broken.

Their value is in their brand. Their value is held in their worth to the rest of the family. They are molded from an early age to be what the narc parent(s) want without emotion, without feeling, without love.

If you notice every book on this topic rarely discusses the most important word LOVE!

There's an obvious reason because there's none.  It's all work and no play and money is the root cause of such evil.

I hope our country wakes up and quick.
