Book Review: "Before Chappaquiddick" By William C. Kashatus

The most accurate, reflective, thoughtful novel about not only Mary Jo Kopechne but the Kennedy Family, the Kopechne family, the lawyers and court system, and the Boiler Room Girls that were immersed in the political culture of the time.

Plenty of conspiracies, corruption, and lies soon followed and deciphering the truth may never come to fruition without the autopsy due to religious reasons as imposed by the family.

We may never know what truly happened on Martha's Vineyard but that won't stop people from talking, causing alarm, and creating havoc especially here in the Pocono Mountains.

As a resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania (home of the Kids for Cash Scandal) this certainly was not  the only case of this magnitude to capture national attention nor the last.

The 'Valley with the Heart' for those who live here know it's anything but as this is merely a nice slogan from "Little Bill" Phillips (WBRE Radio).

"Poverty is the great equalizer" and so too is the 'Big Boy Network' and both occur simultaneously with oppressive forces working behind the scenes.

The Luzerne County Courthouse is the biggest joke we have and I pray one day it's fully examined as I've had my fair share of 'preferential treatment' and illegalities. I've written more complaints about this facility than other other location in town to everyone from the Senators of my district to the Attorney General and anyone who will listen.

Perhaps one day it will be investigated and looked into for all those who've dealt with major injustices in our broken criminal justice system but until then we will be known as the 'pay to play', 'kickback central' and the most 'corrupt' of them all.

This was truly an eye opener that I'm pleased to have read because it filled in many layers of fluff that I never knew existed including many of the cover ups and conspiracy theories with political tones and suffice to say enhanced my already well known feeling that we lost all empathy, compassion, and love for humanity since the 60's.

It's the same old 'small town politics' and sadly I'm sure nothing will ever change here.

Thank you William, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
