Book Review: "Flatiron" By Michael Heslin

I LOVE NYC!

This was the perfect read, short sentences, unnamed narrator voices, precision linked to internal dialogue.

The conversations, the intimate details of a love for Laura (whose so blunt it's harmful), the desire to make a mark in the world while dealing with the financial struggles and inner turmoil was just fantastic.

You literally felt that Heslin had taken you by the hand as a tourist and had provided not only the top structures but the ironic cynicism is that the world can be a cruel, hard, demeaning place.

When your home is near Flatiron -the most iconic building in the city- you know it's going to have a story to tell. If only the walls could talk.

Moving from hotel to hotel, struggling to eat, to find shelter, the mere mention of St. Vincent's- just touched a nerve.

NYC is all I have, it's in my heart, it's my soul, it's who I am too!

Michael Heslin has wrote with such eloquence, light, and soul.

Thank you to Michael, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
